My experience and approach

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with more than two decades of experience helping teens, young adults, and adults navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and relationship challenges. Much of my work focuses on supporting individuals during transitions and growth.

I have particular expertise and experience in counseling young adults. I help clients navigate the emotional and practical challenges that often accompany emerging adulthood. My work is grounded in creating a safe, trusting therapeutic relationship where clients feel heard, respected, and supported as they work toward meaningful and lasting change.

Professional Experience

Over the course of my career, I have worked as a therapist in a wide range of clinical settings, including:

  • Medical and psychiatric hospitals
  • Emergency rooms
  • Community mental health centers
  • College health services
  • Private practice

I also spent several years serving as the Assistant Director and Director of Mental Health Services for a large university, supporting students as they navigated academic pressure, independence, identity development, and emotional well-being.

In these leadership roles, I triaged mental health emergencies, provided tailored referrals to appropriate services, and spoke to the university community about mental health and wellness. I also managed and supported a team of mental health clinicians, helping ensure students received thoughtful, coordinated care during times of considerable stress and transition.

My Approach as a Young Adult Therapist

I offer a conversational and compassionate approach to therapy built on collaboration and mutual trust. Creating a strong two-way therapeutic relationship is central to my work. My style is warm, relaxed, and down-to-earth. Sessions are tailored to your needs in each moment, drawing on evidence-based counseling approaches.

Special Understanding of First Responders

Before entering the mental health field, I worked for 10 years as an EMT. This experience gives me firsthand insight into the culture and stressors unique to frontline workers and first responders. First responders hold a special place in my heart, and I value supporting individuals whose work requires resilience under pressure.

In-Person and Online Therapy

I see clients in person at my Natick office and also offer secure virtual therapy sessions, providing flexible options for clients balancing school, work, and life responsibilities.

Connection to the Community

I was born and raised in the MetroWest area and continue to live locally with my husband and cats. Outside of my practice, I enjoy cooking, sharing good food, yoga, gardening, reading, watching birds, and spending time in nature whenever possible.
